VALVES

Qucon offers steam valves as per the requirement of the customers for their operations

Globe Valves are linear motion valves with rounded bodies, from which their name is derived. They are widely used in industry to regulate fluid flow in both on/off and throttling service. Advantages included precise throttling and control, as well as high-pressure limits. Disadvantages include poor cleanliness.

Safety Valve A safety valve is a valve that acts as a fail-safe. An example of the safety valve is a pressure relief valve (PRV), which automatically releases a substance from a boiler, pressure vessel, or another system, when the pressure or temperature exceeds preset limits. Pilot-operated relief valves are a specialized type of pressure safety valve. A leak tight, lower cost, single emergency use option would be a rupture disk. Safety valves were first developed for use on steam boilers during the Industrial Revolution. Early boilers operating without them were prone to explosion unless carefully operated.

Ball Valve provides tight shut-off and predictable control. They have a high range of use due to the design of the regulating element, without the complications of side loads typical of butterfly or globe valves.Advantages include ease of operation and high flow, high pressure, and high-temperature capabilities. Disadvantages include low cleanliness and an inability to handle slurries.

Butterfly Valves control the flow of steam with a disk which runs on a diametrical axis inside a pipe, or by tow semicircular plates hinged on a common spindle, permitting flow in only one direction. They are used as throttling valves to control flow.Butterfly valves offer a rotary stem movement of 90 degrees or less in a compact design. Unlike ball valves, butterfly valves do not have pockets in which fluids and gas may become trapped when the valve is closed.

Gate Knife Valve is linear motion in which a flat closure element slides into the flow stream to provide shut-off.The gate valve is usually divided into two types. parallel and wedge-shaped.Parallel gate valves use a flat disc gate between two parallel seats(upstream and downstream). Knife valves are of this type, but with a sharp edge on the bottom of the gate.Large sizes are commonly available. Disadvantages include pressure limitations lack cleanliness and low shut-off.

Diaphragm Valve uses a 'pinching' method to stop the valve flow using a flexible diaphragm. One of the major advantages of using diaphragm valve is that the valve components can be isolated from the process fluid making them ideal for sanitary applications. The diaphragm valve is limited to a maximum temperature of 450F.

Feed Check Valve It is used to control the supply of water to the boiler & to prevent the escaping of water from the boiler when the pump pressure is less or pump is stopped.

Working Under normal working condition, the pressure on the feed pump side( connected to elbow) Is more than the boiler side pressure. This pressure difference lifts the check value. To allow The feed water to enter the boiler, the feed valve is lifted manually. Hence, the feed water may enter the boiler in order to control the supply of feed water To the boiler, the position of the feed value is controlled. In the event of failure of feed pump, The pressure on the water sump side reduces.the check valve will be closed because of higher
